Mike Michuda Enforcement Officer Field Collector Background Information: • We have seven Parking Enforcement Officers • Years of service spans two years to two decades. • Enforcement operates seven days per week. • They are “Limited Commission Law Enforcement” meaning they have the legal authority to enforce laws and issue citations within a specialized area. 3 Uniform Traffic Ordinance • The Uniform Traffic Ordinance (UTO) is the section of City Code containing traffic ordinances. • Parking regulations are in section 12.9 and 12.6. • The UTO is also enforced by the Police. Common Citations • Expired Meter • $35 fine Common Citations • Permit Required • This mostly includes Loading Zones, Residential Parking Permits, and the Water Street Lot. • $42(Loading Zone) or $35 fine Common Citations • Parking Prohibited • $35 fine Common Citations • ADA (Handicap Parking) • $250 fine Common Citations • Expired Tabs • $35 fine Common Citations • Fire Lanes • $35 fine Common Citations • Abandoned Vehicles • Usually reported via Constituent Services. • Located predominately in the neighborhoods outside of downtown. • 10-day tow notice given via sticker on vehicle. What We Do Not Enforce What We Do Not Enforce • Private Property- Any code that requires accessing private property. • Example: Junk vehicles, expired registration etc. What We Do Not Enforce • Land Use Code (Chapter 14) • Example: Parking Minimums required for construction.
