Dear Mayor Garcia and Members of the Santa Fe City Council,
I am writing to express my interest in being reappointed to the City of Santa Fe Planning
Commission.
Since my appointment in April 2024, serving on the Commission has been both a
meaningful and rewarding experience. I have gained a deeper understanding of land use,
development review, and long-range planning, and I have greatly appreciated the
opportunity to contribute to decisions that shape the future of our city.
As a Southside resident, I am particularly committed to equitable community development
and ensuring that growth benefits residents across all neighborhoods. Throughout my
term, I have sought to balance thoughtful planning, housing and economic development
needs, and the preservation of the qualities that make Santa Fe unique. I believe that
strong community engagement is essential to this work, and I have valued opportunities to
listen to residents and consider a wide range of perspectives in our deliberations.
I have also been pleased to support the Planning and Land Use Department’s ongoing
efforts related to updates to Chapter 14 and the General Plan. These initiatives represent
important opportunities to create a more responsive, sustainable, and inclusive framework
for Santa Fe’s future, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to their advancement.
Thank you for your consideration and for your continued service to our community. It would
be an honor to continue serving on the Planning Commission and helping guide the
thoughtful growth and development of Santa Fe.
Sincerely,
Sasha McGhee
