some research on the color and found it to be very historical. Mr. Purvis asked if it was darker. Mr. Marlens agreed. Mr. Hewat said it would duplicate a lead based red of the nineteenth century. Mr. Purvis asked the color of the beams. Mr. Marlens said there would only be two colors for the entire project: the color of the stucco and the barn red color for everything else. He asked if the Board would be willing to give him discretion in either painting the beams and posts red or not painting them at all, he would appreciate it. He said if they couldn't, he would paint them red. Mr. Purvis asked if the windows and doors would be the same color. Mr. Marlens agreed. He explained that the windows were divided internally by metal and had wood muntins. Mr. Purvis said his recommendation was to approve it both ways, saying his preference was not to paint the beams and posts. Mr. Padilla agreed, saying he would recommend that they not be painted and if the applicant would like to paint them, that it come back to staff for review. Mr. Marlens agreed. Mr. Padilla asked Mr. Hewat if on the proposed north elevation, the wall was 72" high. Mr. Hewat agreed, saying it was measured from the highest point of the grade to the top of the wall there by Cristo Rey School. He said the applicant needed the height there by the school.
