Additionally, should the proposed Resolution be adopted, the City Manager would designate at least one representative from the Santa Fe Police Department to serve as a liaison to the committee. Consequences of Not Enacting Legislation: If this legislation is not adopted, a Governing Body member would not serve on the Immigration Committee as a non-voting member and chair, and the City Manager would not be required to designate at least one representative from the Santa Fe Police Department to serve as a liaison to the committee. If the mayor is appointed, there is no additional cost, since the mayor is paid a salary rather than an hourly wage. If a city councilor is appointed, the cost will be determined by their base pay and the frequency and duration of Immigration Committee meetings.
